Anxiety + Depression

Are you pregnant or postpartum and worried about how you are feeling? Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders  (also known as PMADs) are related to mood and anxiety symptoms that occur during pregnancy or up to one year postpartum. As many as 1 in 7 moms (1 in 10 dads) experience symptoms of depression and anxiety during the perinatal period. People of every age, income level, race and culture can develop PMADs.  Symptoms of PMADs respond very well to support and treatment.

Traumatic experiences are unique to each individual but can include a single incident like a house-fire, sexual assault, or car accident. Chronic stress from prolonged events like bullying, neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Along with chronic stressors like racism, poverty, or humiliation.People can also be traumatized if they witness distressing situations, and it can cycle from generation to generation if not stopped.
